About Design Thinking For Food
Design Thinking For Food begins by introducing the fundamentals of design thinking and food studies as well as the particular challenge the class will focus (for example food insecurity among UC Davis students or food waste in the Dining Commons). The following weeks follow the design thinking process while drawing on food studies perspectives to better understand the social and cultural context in which the challenge exists. The class culminates in presentations of design proposals to stakeholders, with an opportunity for students to get meaningful feedback from the people who would be using or implementing their ideas.
